Tombs/Planks/Blx Split

I just got a listen to the test pressing of the Tombs/Planks/Blx split for the UK tour. Im really happy.

Its a 12" tour vinyl, 300 copies only available on the UK tour we all are up for in September. Tombs invited April and I over to their space and we contributed vocals and "electronics" to a couple of songs and a little filler in between songs. It was super extra cool to work w those guys as they are super awesome buddies of ours and just plain talented. Good company.

The whole session lasted for one late sunday night and was totally painless. When we were done I thought to myself, "thats it"?..soo easy and natural. April fronted the vocals on the song "Cheval Noir"...its one of my favorite performances she has given since I have been working with her.

Mike told me, (Mike Hill of Tombs), that there will also be a download card included in the vinyl. Yeah, those guys fuckin rule and such.

The heat here is making me really really crazy. Sorry to anyone I have been in contact with in the last couple of days.

Hotels

Sometimes I think it would be really great to live in hotels. Permanently. I kind of did for a while, here and there, but its not the same. Its kind of romantic if you think about it. The most generic place off of Interstate whatever.. You could get take out from the local joint or there is also old Domino`s...they are always adding this or that to their menu.
Grab a swim in the morning and put the white towels in the tub. Nod to the ladies whom are making the room service rounds so early in the a.m. .. "I`ll be back later guys, don`t worry about my room".. I might say.
Yeah, it`s that hot here in old NYC today.

New EP suchlike

Hello world. I booked some time to put the finishing touches on a new EP (BLX) I have been thinking about for the last 10,000 miles or so. We have been using the Korg a lot lately and I have found some new/old sounds to drag out of the drum rig. I suppose they will tell us what it sounds like once it is released. I never know.

I promise all of this stuff will get out this year!! Thanks for asking!!

Some dates are coming in for the UK/Europe tour this sept.

Oh yeah, we are getting married in june!!! (chirp chirp bark bark purr purr)... so you cant have sex with us now. ever.

Carson and I are going to Prospect park on sunday after some more suit and formal shopping for the wedding. You should come. Its much friendlier when you are around.

There is this really cool video thing about BLX coming up we are excited about. You will know about it when it air`s. airs. aires. etc.

Everything seems slow to me. Drifting. Floating along. I crash up against it.... like getting a tooth pulled. April could probably word it better. She usually does.

Home ETC

We`re back. Working on Brookyln Label and such like. Thanks for missing us. We missed you too.

I want to give big up`s to kasey price for helping us out on our trip. A sleazy group like us should be so lucky.

I kind of miss driving everyday. I guess April and I could be a trucker couple if this whole thing doesn`t work out. This one day in south dakota we got up in the wee hours in the morinig during a snow storm..I drove for a few hours..we stopped at Wall Drug and got doughnuts..coffee. Listened to the morning DJ`s talk about Vegans..not so bad right? This nice man sold us gas and told me he was sorry we had to drive through such a storm, but his are needed the moisture.. Friendly.

There is some cool stuff coming up for us, in which we could see much more of each other (you and us), but I dont want to hex it by announcing it right now. I usually do that sort of thing. soon tho.

We really missed Chaz and Wednesday, (our cats), and they missed us although they were really mad at us for the first day or two. Now Chaz is on my lap and wont leave. Nice 1.

I am a HUGE fan of Mr. Harmony Korine. I cant wait to see his new movie Mr. Lonely. I have been reading about it online... I like never anticipate a film, much less go to see movies in theatre, but this is as always an exception. The man is BRILLIANT.

Thinking forward and such, I would so so so be into working with him sometime. Often now bands do videos ETC to promote an album and so on. Or whatever...promote their MYSPACE.. We have not yet given this whole video thing so much thought and now magazines and ETC have contacted us about such a thing..

MR. KORINE, We are big big big fans with respect dues toward your work.

Its beautiful here in NYC now. Its spring time. You`ll agree. More soon....

Hotel

APril and I have been spending a lot of time in hotels lately. Mostly hotels that are out of the way comparedly.

Like this one. I think that at one time this place was totally happening. Its huge. Maybe 400 or more rooms. I know that there is no one else on this floor. The restaurant downstairs is abandoned. I smoked a cigarette in the stair well and noticed a sign informing the once employed room service staff of cart removal procedures. There is no room service here. Hasnt been for a long time. Its clear. Michigan. Its kind of sad.

A few BLX songs have been written in places like this. I bet if I brought all of our stuff up from the van to our room, through the elevators and past the front desk no one would notice. We could play the whole record. That would be great? No one would notice. Think of it man. Whats the point really? We wouldnt be making fun of anybody, and the people here would eventually shut it down once they woke up. Only we would think of the value of such a situation. Or you, if you actually read this shit and thought it was true. The whole fantasy would be cooler if you were here. There is room.

We sit here and listen to "Suicide" at top volume..knowing no one will ever come disturb us. Today isnt so bad man.

CHANG

You are totally fucking oblivious to what is going on man. We all have been watching this go down for roughly 6 months or so. The last of the three have been very obvious and more and more have been picking up on it. It almost got to us.

Last summer was a gas. This summer will be the fuel. So sorry you cant burn with us.
